No kidding... being a redneck WILL have it's advantages.

I just keep thinking of the movie "Red Dawn." Life like that would suck.

Well, if the world really does go to hell in a handbasket I plan on going to my brother's place. He has all sorts of arms to the wazoo.

My husband just came back from a trip to Honduras. He said something like 70% of the children there don't make it to 14 - it's that bad. I am so grateful to live here and enjoy the many benefits we take for granted, but I am freakin' TERRIFIED about the next 50 years. Between global warming, global dimming and the arms race in the mideast, not to mention the religious wars and the damn bird flu I lie awake at night all sweaty. Gagh! I want my son to grow up in a safe world with the freedoms I have enjoyed and the ability to raise his own children in the same way.

What's to be done? Is it really as bad as we think it might be? Have generations before us tossed and turned with these same questions?
