It is hard to stick your emotional head back out from under the shell of self preservation, but... It will happen. You will be surprised the first time, I certainly was, still am surprised. There are real honest to god people, have just as much empathy and emotional well being as you do, more so than the few who manage rip a heart or two apart here and there.
