Alex & Ashlee

Since Alex started going to daycare, there has been one other little girl who has been there from the beginning.  Ashlee actually started at Alex’s first daycare by our old house, and then her parents got a divorce the same time Chip & I did.  Strangely enough, the mother moved over to my side of town, right in the next neighborhood, and Alex & Ashlee became inseparable.

The funny thing is, the two could be twins.  Their round little faces and strawberry-blonde ringlets make it very easy to mistake them for sisters.  Add to the fact that they are constantly playing together, holding hands and hanging out.  And it never fails, whatever Alex is wearing that day, Ashlee usually shows up wearing the EXACT SAME THING.

Every morning, when I drop Alex off, the first person she looks for is Ashlee. They immediately run to one another to give hugs.  But lately, there seems to be a lot more kissing going on. (Is this a “3″ thing?)  I find it so cute when they give each other a little kiss… but this morning it was even funnier when, in perfect unison, they both wiped it off, dragging their lips across the back of their arm.

Both looked at each other and at the same time echoed:

“EWWWW!”

Gee, kind of reminds me of you and Amber growing up! I wonder if they’ll have the POOFY hair as teenagers, I know they’ll have all the techno stuff to drive you nuts instead of just a TELEPHONE ! I hope she gets to keep her childhood friends, they’re the best!
